All pilots should take particular note of noise sensitive areas at the eastern boundary of the aerodrome on final approach to Runway 27 which prohibits close base leg approaches to Runway 27 and low departures from Runway 09. An additional noise sensitive area exists at Brympton D'Evercy House (505612.88N 0024105.48W). Normal visual approaches to either runway should be made to an approximate mid-field position (e.g. abeam the radome) unless over-riding safety considerations exist or otherwise instructed by ATC. Pilots should plan to backtrack as required when departing from Runway 09 to avoid low departures over Yeovil town centre.
